I managed to get on that LH flight out of Frankfurt at 1pm today, and unfortunately, it was only 2/3 full. I wish more people could have made it to the airport to get on that plane. Even at 11am today, the airport was not as crowded as I thought it would be.

The German airport authority has opened the skies overnight and Lufthansa is flying. I arrived at the ticket desk right as it opened at 6am, and am on the standby list for the Boston flight, LH 422! The check-in person said I should have no problem getting on board.

The toughest part of the trip is going to be getting to mainland Europe. On Saturday night, i took an overnight Ferry from Helsinki to Stockholm. There are no cabins left. The staff opened up two conference rooms and handed out blankets and passengers slept on the floor there.
